Built in 2012 for two art connoisseurs, the Vista House in southern Germany serves both as a wooded hillside retreat and a personal art gallery. Designed by Stuttgart-based architect Alexander Brenner, the home features his characteristic contemporary stacked block volumes, cantilevered roofs, clean lines and crisp mien.
Wanting to preserve the indentation of the original house built in 1984, architect J. Mayer H. designed the Duplica Casa in Germany by carefully but significantly modifying the original traditional residence. To accomplish this, he used the home’s unusual outline to replicate throughout the structure.
A small German company called Twinkind responded to this craving by combining the increasingly popular 3D printing with the growing desire for innovation in social preservation.
